Job summary

Point72 is hiring for an AI/ML – Investment Services backend engineer in Warsaw. You will design scalable backend systems, build data pipelines, and productionize generative AI capabilities to augment investment workflows.

You will work with cloud platforms and container orchestration, implement robust APIs, and mentor peers while collaborating with security and compliance teams to ensure governance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with backend focus.
• Experience building data pipelines for batch and streaming data.
• Experience with generative AI and LLM production workflows.
• Strong skills in Java, Python, or Go and maintainable code design.
• Cloud deployment and container orchestration with Docker/Kubernetes.
• CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code for services deployments.
• Strong SQL and data modeling across relational and NoSQL stores.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder collaboration.
• Commitment to high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems powering investment services and AI apps.
• Build and operate robust data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities, model serving, embeddings, and API workflows.
• Develop microservices and APIs with reliability, low latency, and security.
• Optimize performance, resilience, monitoring, and automated incident response.
• Lead cross-functional delivery from prototypes to production with data scientists and product teams.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices.
• Mentor engineers on backend and data engineering best practices and roadmap contributions.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and infra to embed governance and controls.
