Job summary

Cloudinary is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for its AX team to build agent-facing infrastructure and reshape the platform for machine-driven callers. You will own API design, authentication, and reliable agent interactions across Node.js/TypeScript, Ruby/Rails, and Go.

Qualifications

10+ years building and operating production APIs, SDKs and backend systems at scale.
Strong in Node.js/TypeScript, comfortable with Ruby/Rails and/or Go.

Responsibilities

Build agent-facing surfaces: API-first account provisioning, machine-to-machine authentication, scoped credentials, and agent identity/attribution.
Own MCP servers and an agent-first CLI enabling agents and LLMs to interact with Cloudinary reliably.
Harden the agent media path to ensure reliable uploads and media operations for non-human callers.
Make agent behavior measurable through instrumentation, signals, and attribution.
Work across a polyglot backend: Node.js/TypeScript for tooling; Ruby/Rails and Go in core platform.
Ship, measure, iterate with cross-functional teams (Product, Ecosystem, Discoverability) across AX.
