Job summary

Citi Solutions Center Poland is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to drive backend development and data-intensive solutions. You will lead technical delivery, mentor teams and collaborate with full-stack engineers on scalable services and AI-enabled capabilities.

You will stay hands-on while guiding architecture, data processing and integration efforts, in a hybrid work setting with partial remote days.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Deep knowledge of SQL, data modelling and data integration.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Distributed systems understanding for scalable solutions.
• Familiarity with Angular, TypeScript and frontend-backend integration.
• Experience with data ingestion, transformation and processing pipelines.
• Kubernetes/OpenShift exposure, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Nice to have exposure to AI/LLM technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable backend services and data integrations.
• Remain hands-on in coding while guiding engineers and contractors.
• Provide technical guidance through design and code reviews.
• Design event-driven solutions using Kafka and asynchronous processing.
• Model and transform data across enterprise systems.
• Develop APIs and microservices using Java/Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers for full-stack capabilities with Angular/TypeScript.
• Support AI-enabled capabilities including data prep and retrieval workflows.
• Establish standards for data quality, reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Promote CI/CD, observability, testing and secure development.
• Mentor engineers and foster knowledge sharing.
