Job summary

TransferRoom is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement and operate our cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. You will own CI/CD pipelines, improve observability, and drive reliability across all products in a fast-growing SaaS environment.

This 6-month contract role emphasizes automation, scalability and cost optimisation, with opportunities to extend. You will work from our London office, with a collaborative, cross-functional team culture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform roles.
• Strong Microsoft Azure knowledge across compute, networking, SQL and identity.
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform/Terragrunt.
• CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance with Azure DevOps.
• Docker and container-based deployment.
• SQL Server / Azure SQL administration and performance troubleshooting.
• Scripting: PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Fluent English; experience in fast-moving scale-ups.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure across all TransferRoom products using IaC.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and containerised deployments.
• Troubleshoot production incidents end-to-end across application, database and infrastructure layers.
• Drive database reliability and performance on Azure SQL with telemetry-based investigation.
• Improve observability with Application Insights, Azure Monitor and Grafana.
• Contribute to platform-wide initiatives: networking, private connectivity and cloud cost optimisation.
• Raise the engineering bar through automation, documentation and SRE process improvements.
