Job summary

Xebia is hiring a senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines for reporting and analytics. You will own production-grade pipelines and collaborate with Data, Architecture, Product, and Engineering teams across the Data Platform.

You should have 8+ years in data engineering, hands-on Azure and Databricks expertise, and strong SQL/Python skills. The role emphasizes DataOps, SRE practices, and a modern lakehouse approach, with global teams and onboarding to Core

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional experience in Data Engineering with ownership of production-grade data pipelines.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Good command of modern data-platform and lakehouse principles, including medallion architecture and dimensional modelling for reporting.
• Experience with software engineering and DataOps practices, including version control, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and incident management.
• Experience with SRE practices and continuous operational improvements.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to collaborate across Data, Architecture, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Data modelling skills and ability to develop a holistic view of data scopes and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable data pipelines for reporting and analytics.
• Create new production-ready pipelines supporting priority reporting use cases.
• Review and refactor existing pipelines for reliability and performance.
• Maintain pipelines to ensure daily reliable data delivery.
• Collaborate with Data, Architects, PMs, and Engineers to translate reporting needs into robust solutions.
• Onboard Core Products data workloads onto the Data Platform and ensure alignment with standards.
• Document data flows, dependencies, and operating procedures; support maintainability and handover.
• Share knowledge and engineering practices with the Core Products data team.
