About The Role
In this role, you will turn geographic data and analytical results into interactive web tools that help internal teams of a geospatial analysis organization explore, query, and act on that data. You will shape custom ArcGIS Experience Builder widgets, standalone mapping applications, and reusable components, working side by side with GIS analysts and data specialists so that your work becomes part of teams’ daily decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop custom widgets and extend applications using ArcGIS Experience Builder Developer Edition and the Jimu framework
- Build reusable components and standalone mapping applications with TypeScript, React, and the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, so multiple teams can reuse them and deliver GIS functionality faster
- Work closely with GIS analysts, data specialists, and internal teams to clarify requirements and turn them into practical, usable interfaces
- Integrate ArcGIS maps, layers, services, and analytical outputs into web applications
- Create interfaces for exploring, filtering, querying, and visualising geospatial data, connected with tables, charts, detail panels, and business workflows
- Connect applications to secured services and APIs, handling authentication and access
- Write automated tests and documentation that keep reusable components reliable and easy for other teams to adopt
- Improve application performance and manage code through Git-based version control and review
Requirements
- Strong skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS
- Practical experience with the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript
- Experience developing custom ArcGIS Experience Builder widgets, including familiarity with the Jimu framework
- Understanding of GIS fundamentals: vector and raster data, coordinate systems, projections, spatial queries, and map visualization
- Experience with ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise, including web maps, feature layers, and REST services
- Experience integrating APIs, including authentication and access to secured services, and familiarity with Git and standard web development, testing, and deployment practices
- Python experience for geospatial data processing and automation, ideally with ArcGIS API for Python, ArcPy, GeoPandas, Shapely, or Rasterio; experience exposing geospatial analysis through APIs or geoprocessing services is a plus
- Knowledge of spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS or enterprise geodatabases), and experience with large geospatial datasets, application performance, or 3D visualization; familiarity with accessibility and responsive interface design is a plus
- Ability to translate analytical and business requirements into clear, usable interfaces
