Job summary

Aviva plc in Warsaw is seeking a Staff Applied AI Engineer to design and deliver production AI agents and applied AI systems across Aviva’s operations. You will work across the applied AI stack and collaborate with product, architecture, data, risk and compliance teams to create measurable value.

You will help shape reusable engineering patterns, write robust Python, and ensure production reliability while balancing performance and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming and production‑quality code.
• Proven experience delivering large language model apps in production.
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate production‑grade AI agents.
• Define architecture decisions for AI systems.
• Define evaluation criteria covering quality, safety, fairness and compliance.
• Turn business needs into practical AI solutions with product teams.
• Write clean Python and use AI‑assisted engineering tools.
• Ensure production reliability and monitor cloud resources.
• Identify and escalate AI risks including compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and participate in reviews.
