Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior Android Application Engineer to join a nimble team that builds video collaboration experiences used by thousands daily. You will work on both Android Apps layer and the AOSP framework layer, delivering core services, device management features, and secure, high-performance code in a customized Android system.

Strong Kotlin expertise, deep Android platform knowledge, and a track record of solving complex multi-threading and security challenges are essential.

You will be part of a small team of developers focused on making video collaboration an amazing experience and the software you create will be used by thousands of people every day.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for an Android Software Engineer who can work on both Android Apps layer and AOSP framework layer. The key responsibilities include implementation of custom platform services, applications and device management features running on a customized Android system. We are working on unique embedded products that rely heavily on performance and security. In this role you will be responsible for providing core system services for other system components.

SKILLS

Must have

• Expertise in Kotlin programming language with all the new concepts that it introduced to Android
• Experience in end-to-end application lifecycle management of system applications
• Proficiency in multi threaded programming and Middleware solution development on Android environment
• Strong fundamentals of IPC and OS concepts
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong software design and architecture skills
• Good understanding of Android SDK APIs and experience exploring the AOSP framework
• Configuring security policies on Android with SELinux for various applications/services
• Advanced knowledge of Android application sandboxing and secure data sharing between different apps and services
• Advanced knowledge of revision control and code review tools like git, gerrit and build infrastructure like gradle, maven, Jenkins and tools like Android Studio
• Strong debugging skills for quick turnaround on root cause analysis of bugs
