Job summary

Nordea in Warsaw seeks a market data analyst to support daily production, quality control, and distribution of market data across the bank. The role involves collaboration with Trading, IT, Risk, and Finance, and exposure to market data systems for valuation of financial instruments and derivatives.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in a related field, has 3+ years in international finance, and demonstrates strong Excel and programming interest (SQL and Python).

We are looking for an analyst for a full time permanent job working with market data and market data systems within an international banking institution.

About Our Team

Meet the Market Data Management & Control team. Our role is to ensure Nordea is using the correct market data when servicing our customers and valuing our holdings.

Our team is part of Group Finance, consist of ten people and are responsible for the prices and rates that are used within Nordea whenever a report on valuation of holdings is to be produced. The job will give an unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the markets, the market data and the market data system used for the valuation of financial instruments and derivatives. We are located in Copenhagen and in Warsaw, and it is in Warsaw the job opening is

What You’ll Be Doing

Main responsibilities in this role

• Participate in the daily production and control of the quality and distribution of market data.
• Follow-up and analyze the controls on a daily basis through extensive interaction with internal stake holders (Trading, IT, Risk organization, Finance organization etc.) and with external market data vendors
• Participate in the continuous development market data systems and of controls of market data by proposing new ideas and thereby increasing efficiency
• Keeping up to date with market trends to ensure effective use of market data within Nordea

Who You Are

This is the right role for you if you have a passion for finance and the financial markets and love learning and trying new things. You have a controlling and analytical mind-set and are honest and dependable, willing to speak up even when it is difficult and believe in doing what is right.

Your background and skills include

• You have a master in finance, engineering, computer science or mathematics (or similar)
• You have at least 3 years experience working within an international financial organization, in e.g. a front-office, middle-office or back-office function
• You have a great interest in the financial market and the valuation of financial instruments and financial derivatives and want to learn as much as possible about this.
• You are an excellent user of Excel and have a very strong interest in programming (SQL and Python)

It would be ideal if you also

• You have excellent communication skills and speak and write English at a professional level
• You have experience in work extensively with market data and different market data vendors
