Job summary

Adtran, Inc. is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to join a cross-functional team to build and deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions aligned with business objectives.

You will implement scalable AI systems, move features from prototype to production, and ensure security, governance, and reliability across deployments. You will design AI/ML services, integrate LLMs, and collaborate with architects to turn use cases into tested, production-ready applications.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience building and shipping AI/ML systems to production.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python.
• Experience integrating generative AI and large language models into real applications (RAG, prompt engineering, orchestration).
• Practical experience with data engineering, model deployment, and MLOps (model lifecycle, versioning, monitoring, retraining).
• Working proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their AI services.
• Familiarity with data pipeline and data lakehouse concepts, APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Solid testing, CI/CD, containerization, and production-grade software delivery.
• Good communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AI/ML services for enterprise use cases from prototype to production.
• Develop and maintain data and ML pipelines including ingestion, features, deployment.
• Integrate LLMs and agentic workflows via APIs and MCP protocols.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to turn AI use cases into working solutions.
• Build evaluation, testing, monitoring, and retraining workflows for production reliability.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance standards.
• Contribute to cost-efficient AI operations by writing efficient code and mindful infra usage.
• Provide mentorship and share knowledge across the team.
