NewsWhip by Sprout Social is hiring a Senior Applied AI/ML Scientist to own and advance LLM-powered features across production systems. You’ll design ambient and interactive agentic workflows, and shape the retrieval, enrichment, and reporting tools used by journalists and brands.

You will lead architectural decisions, implement rigorous evaluation, and ensure safety and reliability in a high-stakes content domain, partnering with product and UX to ship impactful capabilities.

Formación

• 6+ years building and operating production software systems.
• 2+ years shipping LLM-powered features in real-world apps.
• Experience with LLM APIs and transformer-based techniques.
• Experience with embedding models and similarity search.
• Proficient in prompt engineering and structured outputs.
• LLMOps practices including monitoring and observability.
• Proven ability to own a system end-to-end in production.
• Experience making architectural trade-offs and mentoring.

Responsabilidades

• Build and ship LLM-powered features at scale.
• Architect production agentic workflows (ambient and interactive).
• Design LLM-powered content enrichments feeding reports.
• Lead technical direction for tool-augmented LLM systems.
• Make architecture decisions on retrieval, agents, and models.
• Define prompting standards and output schemas.
• Ensure quality with offline/online evaluation and observability.
• Own safety, grounding, and consistency in a news domain.
• Build observability for LLM features: tracing, latency, costs.
• Trade off model quality, latency, and cost; take ownership.
