Job summary

Bayer is hiring a Senior AI Software Engineer to scale AI across enterprise functions. You will design and ship production-grade AI services, build MCP servers, and deploy on AWS/Azure in a secure, scalable cloud-native stack.

Expect end-to-end responsibility from PoC to production with strong emphasis on observability and governance. The role requires advanced Python, API development, and experience with LangChain, PydanticAI, and containerized deployments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field; PhD advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Industrialize GenAI prototypes into secure IT products.
• Design and operate cloud-native APIs and microservices for AI workloads.
• Develop MCP servers to expose enterprise tools with robust permissions and auditing.
• Architect agent workflows with LangChain, LangGraph, and PydanticAI.
• Build text-to-SQL/RAG solutions with embeddings, indexing, and caching.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated tests.
• Deploy on AWS/Azure with containers and managed services.
• Ensure end-to-end observability with tracing and logging.
• Establish safety and quality controls for prompts and tests.
• Collaborate across Data Science, MLOps, Architecture, and Product.
