Job summary

Backbase is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer (Android) to shape Android development across R&D, define standards, migrate release pipelines, and leverage AI tools to accelerate mobile delivery.

You will drive foundational changes—unifying release workflows and multi-module libraries—and influence the daily workflows of 600+ engineers. Hybrid Kraków office with strong focus on performance and security.

Qualifications

• Expert-level mastery of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern architectures (MVVM/MVI).
• Strong experience designing multi-module libraries and SDKs.
• Hands-on CI/CD with GitHub Actions, TDD, unit testing, and UI automation (JUnit/Mockito/Espresso).
• Familiarity with AI development tools, prompt crafting, and architecture choices for mobile work.

Responsibilities

• Migrate mobile CI/CD pipelines from Bitrise to GitHub Actions and align Android releases with shared workflows.
• Define scalable multi-module architectures, SDK/framework integrations, and reusable design system components with accessibility and security in mind.
• Integrate AI-assisted workflows and automated testing into daily engineering tasks to speed delivery.
• Partner with pilot teams to guide adoption of new SDLC practices across R&D.
