Job summary

Tate & Lyle Global Shared Services Centre in Łódź seeks a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to support timely financial reporting, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with policies. You will collaborate with multiple finance teams, mentor junior staff, and drive process improvements across the General Ledger scope.

The role emphasizes accurate month-end close, intercompany activity, and liaison with internal/external audits, with opportunities for hybrid work and career development.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or Accountancy Course (preferably SKWP level 2).
• Two+ years of experience in accounting.
• Experience in SAP.
• BW/HFM (Hyperion) experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in Excel is essential; VBA, Power Query, and Power BI advantageous.
• Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Complete all Financial Reporting Month End Close Activities according to Month End Close Timetable; include journal entries, reconciliation, intercompany balances, and data for consolidation (HFM).
• Own complex FR processes and support senior team members.
• Identify improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare regular and ad hoc reports.
• Produce monthly control files to ensure reconciliations are complete.
• Ensure internal controls and accounting policies are followed.
• Support statutory reporting and reconcile ledgers.
• Mentor junior accountants and liaise with audit teams.

Tate & Lyle Global Shared Services Centre in Łódź

is the principal location for handling the business support activities and processes for Tate & Lyle, both transactional as well as value-added business partnering support. Starting operations in 2011 with less than 50 people, we now have over 350 employees supporting operations globally. We have 30 teams operating in Łódź to provide service in the areas of Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, HR/People Services, and IS/IT

ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial reporting process by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This role involves assisting with the preparation of financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Senior FR Accountant provides support to less experienced team members. Seeks to improve processes through efficiency and automation. Subject matter expert and key user GL area with advanced knowledge about the process and accountancy overall. Dedicated to advanced activities with Business, Audit and Group Finance.

Main Accountabilities

• Complete all Financial Reporting Month End Close Activities according to Month End Close Timetable (including journal entries calculation and posting, reconciliation and confirmation of monthly intercompany balances and preparation data for consolidation purposes- HFM- Hyperion Financial Management submission).
• Ownership of more complex FR processes / more demanding entities in FR scope.
• Ensure appropriate business sense checks are in place, and continuously identify and recommend improvements to enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Prepare regular and ad hoc reports.
• Produce monthly control files to ensure all reconciliations are complete.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Perform more complex monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, assure proper follow-up.
• Support statutory reporting and reconcile the ledgers.
• Adhere to performance metrics targets and take corrective actions to meet service level expectations.
• Drive continuous improvements to systems and processes in place to ensure best practice, optimum effectiveness and efficiency.
• Participate in projects aiming to change and improve processes in General Ledger area.
• Close collaboration with all finance teams and other support functions as necessary.
• Independently liaise with Internal and External Audit.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants and other team members.

• Compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Implementation of process improvements that enhance efficiency, save time or costs and reduce manual effort.

• Fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Effectiveness in communicating with stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
• Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders regarding the quality and timeliness of financial information.

Qualifications
