Job summary

Based in Warsaw, Frontex is seeking a SNE in the Capacity and Readiness Unit to support vulnerability assessments, data collection schemes, and border-management capabilities.

The role reports to the Head of Unit and involves preparing assessments, reports, and briefings for Member States and Schengen associated countries, with a focus on e-gates, Self-Service Systems and EES implementation, plus regular collaboration with other teams and units.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the implementation of data collection schemes for vulnerability assessments.
• Monitor and analyse MS/SAC technical equipment, capabilities, and staff needs for border control.
• Prepare vulnerability assessments, reports, briefing notes, and responses for MS/SAC.
• Coordinate monitoring and implementation of recommendations after assessments.
• Support the Vulnerability Assessment Network, organise meetings and workshops.
• Engage with colleagues across teams to promote best practices and knowledge sharing.
• Assist in developing the Common Vulnerability Assessment methodology.
• Provide counsel to team leaders and Head of Unit.
• Occasionally undertake missions to MS/SAC to carry out duties.

Job description

Based in Warsaw, Poland, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) continues to expand its workforce to meet increasing operational demands.

In this context, Frοntex is currently looking for a SNE in the Capacity and Readiness Unit.

The recruited SNE, reporting to the Head of Unit and under the supervision of the respective team leader in the Capacity and Readiness Unit, will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Providing support to the implementation of different data collection schemes for vulnerability assessments;
• Monitoring and analysing information on Member States’ technical equipment, systems, capabilities, resources, infrastructure, adequately skilled and trained staff necessary for border control as well as contingency plans on border management according to the best practices in the field;
• Preparing vulnerability assessments, reports, letters, briefing notes, responses to enquiries and presentations for assigned Member States (MS) / Schengen associated countries (SAC) with particular focus on e-gates, Self-Service Systems and EES implementation;
• Preparing the monitoring and implementation of recommended measures following different vulnerability assessments for assigned MS/SAC;
• Supporting activities related to the Vulnerability Assessment Network including organisation of meetings and workshops as well as network cooperation related to joint analytical activities;
• Engaging regularly with colleagues in other teams and Frontex Units/Sectors, promoting best practices and knowledge-sharing;
• Providing support to the further development of the Common Vulnerability Assessment
• Methodology (with particular focus on e-gates, Self-Service Systems and EES implementation as well as the establishment of common standards);
• Providing counsel / advice to team leaders and/or the Head of Unit;
• Preparing and carrying out occasional missions to MS/SAC with regard to the duties listed above.
