Job summary

Fusion Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP MDG Functional Consultant – Material to support a major SAP transformation initiative. You will design governance processes across the material master lifecycle and collaborate with global teams.

The role requires strong MDG Material Master expertise, hands-on experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments, and excellent stakeholder management to deliver scalable MDG governance solutions.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years SAP experience with 3–5 years MDG functional experience.
• Strong MDG Material Master expertise and knowledge of MM processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the functional design and implementation of SAP MDG for the Material domain.
• Gather and translate business requirements into MDG governance processes.
• Define data models, workflows, validation rules, and replication needs.
• Collaborate with SCM, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Planning and MD stakeholders.
• Support data migration, testing, UAT, and go-live activities.
• Prepare functional specifications and design decisions.

We are looking for an experienced SAP MDG Functional Consultant – Material to support a major SAP transformation initiative. The role requires strong functional expertise in SAP MDG Material Master, with responsibility for designing governance processes and functional solutions across the material master lifecycle.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead the functional design and implementation of SAP MDG solutions for the Material domain.
• Gather, analyze, and challenge business requirements and translate them into scalable MDG governance processes.
• Design governance processes covering material creation, maintenance, approval, extension, version handling, and lifecycle management.
• Define MDG data models, change request types, approval workflows, validations, derivations, and replication requirements.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Planning, and Master Data stakeholders.
• Collaborate with SAP MM, technical, integration, and data migration teams to ensure alignment between functional requirements and technical implementation.
• Support DRF and downstream replication scenarios from a functional perspective.
• Support data migration, mass upload, data validation, reconciliation, testing, UAT, and go-live activities.
• Identify cross-functional dependencies and contribute to global template design and rollout activities.
• Prepare functional specifications, process documentation, and design decisions.
• Support SAP MDG migration, upgrade, and transformation activities across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.

• 7–10+ years of SAP experience, with at least 3–5 years of hands-on SAP MDG functional experience.
• Strong functional expertise in SAP MDG Material Master.
• Deep understanding of SAP Material Master structures and SAP MM processes.
• Experience with MDG data models, governance workflows, change requests, validations, derivations, and replication.
• Experience with DRF and material master replication.
• Experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments, including MDG migration, upgrade, or transformation programs.
• Experience with data migration, mass upload, data validation, reconciliation, and error-handling processes.
• Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Master Data Governance Certification.
• Experience with SAP MDG on S/4HANA, including co-deployed and hub deployment models.
• Experience with MDG Consolidation and Mass Processing.
• Experience with SAP Fiori.
• Understanding of SAP Clean Core architecture.
• Supply Chain Planning expertise, including intercompany supply and multi-source supply scenarios.
• Experience with global S/4HANA template build and rollout programs.
• Pharma/Life Sciences experience with GxP awareness.
