Job summary

WPP is seeking a senior Risk and Controls specialist for the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. You will support anti-bribery, internal controls, and WPP policy requirements, ensuring alignment with local laws and client contracts.

You will design and reinforce control procedures, coordinate SOX activities, and interact with auditors. A proactive, detail-oriented professional with IFRS knowledge and strong English is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance and accounting with IFRS knowledge.
• Very good knowledge of internal controls and SOX requirements.
• 2+ years in a similar role within an international organization.
• Ability to work independently with high professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior Risk and Controls specialist for the CEE market.
• Support design/implementation of financial, operational and compliance controls.
• Reinforce policies and communicate updates to the business.
• Propose solutions to strengthen control environment and standardise processes.
• Coordinate controls, SOX and internal audits.
• Facilitate walkthroughs with internal and external auditors.
• Report audit results to management and monitor issue resolution.
• Build relationships with global and EMEA Risk and Controls teams.

Job description

• Acting as a senior Risk and Controls specialist for the CEE market, supporting teams on anti-bribery and corruption, internal controls and WPP policy requirements
• Supporting the design and implementation of financial, operational and compliance controls in line with WPP internal control guidelines
• Reinforcing WPP and WPP Media policies and communicating updates to the business
• Proposing solutions to strengthen the control environment and standardise processes, procedures and controls
• Supporting the development of compliance procedures for the CEE market
• Ensuring internal controls, processes and systems comply with local laws, Group procedures and client contract requirements
• Becoming a subject matter expert in the systems and tools used by the Risk and Controls team
• Supporting the coordination of controls, SOX and internal audits
• Participating in and facilitating walkthroughs with internal and external auditors
• Reporting audit results to management and monitoring timely resolution of identified issues
• Building strong relationships with global and EMEA Risk and Controls teams

Key requirements:

• Experience in finance and accounting, including knowledge of IFRS
• Very good knowledge of internal controls and SOX requirements
• At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role within an international organization
• Ability to work independently with a high level of professional ethics
• Curious, proactive mindset and willingness to learn
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of business systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Very good spoken and written English
