Job summary

Mistral is seeking a platform engineer to join our Research Platform team to build a cloud‑agnostic platform improving stability, scalability and velocity for researchers using high‑performance clusters.

Location: Paris / Warsaw / London (hybrid) or remote EU/UK with one hub visit per month. You will create and optimize tools to empower researchers and help them focus on their core mission.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a DX/DevOps/SRE role.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, and programming best practices.
• Exposure to site reliability engineering and infra‑as‑code, monitoring and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable research CI systems with a focus on reliability and speed.
• Build flexible development environments for researchers to focus on their core mission.
• Design and advocate for data pipelines and data handling solutions.
• Optimize builds: container images, large libraries compilation times, Python environments.
• Build relationships with researchers, understanding workflows to enable them to achieve more.
• Communicate and produce documentation to help users maximize tooling and systems.
• Contribute to platformizing research and improving daily experiences for researchers.
