Job summary

Mossakowski Medical Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw invites applications for a researcher to contribute to neurooncology projects. The candidate will work on extracellular vesicles, non-coding RNAs, and immunotherapy approaches for glioblastoma, with potential expansion into organoid models and multi-omics biomarker discovery.

Desirable experience includes animal models, grant writing, and strong publications in cancer or neuroscience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in medicine, biology, biotechnology, or a related field.
• At least five years of laboratory experience, including cell culture, as well as experience in small-animal surgery.
• Experience with rodent in vivo models and the permits or certifications required to conduct the proposed animal work.
• Hands‑on experience with relevant techniques such as PCR or qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence or confocal microscopy.
• Authorship or co‑authorship of scientific publications in cancer research or neuroscience.
• Documented experience in preparing research funding applications.
• Ability to formulate hypotheses and independently plan and conduct research.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills, creativity; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• design, organize, and conduct experiments using cell and tissue cultures, animal models, and patient-derived material;
• perform molecular, biochemical, histological, and microscopy analyses, and help introduce methods needed for the projects;
• analyze and present results, prepare research reports, manuscripts, and conference presentations;
• contribute to grant applications and the delivery of funded projects in accordance with their requirements;
• participate in the scientific activities of the department and Institute, including seminars, training, and collaboration with other researchers.
