Job summary

Cognizant in Poland (remote) seeks a Teradata and Snowflake Migration Architect to lead enterprise data warehouse modernization by migrating Teradata to Snowflake. The role requires deep platform expertise, cloud architecture, SQL optimization, ETL/ELT, security, governance, and end-to-end delivery.

You will own end-to-end architecture, define Snowflake environment, manage migration waves, convert Teradata SQL and ETL workflows, and oversee validation, cutover, and hypercare.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data warehousing and migration projects.
• Proven leadership of large Teradata-to-Snowflake migrations.
• Deep Teradata Vantage, SQL, and performance tuning knowledge.
• Strong ETL/ELT design, data modeling, and security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Teradata and Snowflake solution architecture, including data design, integration, security, scalability, performance, and operations.
• Define the target Snowflake architecture, environment strategy, warehouses, access controls, monitoring, and cost-optimization standards.
• Lead migration assessment and planning across databases, SQL, scripts, ETL, reports, dependencies, workloads, risks, and cutover.
• Drive conversion of Teradata SQL, BTEQ, TPT, objects, and ETL workflows using SnowConvert AI or similar tools.
• Architect high-volume data movement and ELT solutions using TPT, NOS/WRITE_NOS, Snowflake stages, COPY INTO, Snowpipe, IDMC, dbt, and Python.
• Optimize workloads, data models, warehouses, clustering, compute, and query performance.
• Establish validation, testing, cutover, rollback, hypercare, and legacy-decommissioning frameworks.
• Define security, governance, masking, lineage, quality, retention, privacy, and data management controls.
• Provide architecture governance, technical leadership, documentation, mentoring, and troubleshooting.
