Job summary

Speechify Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for AI Data to join its distributed AI team in New York. The role focuses on building data pipelines that power model training for innovative audio-based AI products.

You will work with data engineers, researchers, and platforms teams to design scalable data workflows across petabyte-scale datasets. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of backend software experience, strong Python and Bash skills in Linux, and a track record of deploying production data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally with data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Discover new audio data sources and build reliable pipelines for training datasets.
• Build and optimize large-scale data-processing systems for quality, throughput, and cost.
• Collaborate with AI Scientists to improve training datasets and models.
• Take ownership of engineering projects from discovery to implementation and continuous improvement.
