Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Data to join our AI team and build data pipelines powering model training and next-generation AI products. We create high-quality datasets at scale by combining engineering, infrastructure, and research.

You will explore data sources, design reliable pipelines, and help optimize data quality and cost for scalable AI training. Ideal candidates have a CS degree (or equivalent), 5+ years in backend software engineering, and strong Python and Bash skills

Qualifications

• Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience with production systems and data pipelines for large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Discover new data sources and build pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, optimizing for data quality, throughput, and cost.
• Collaborate with AI Scientists to improve training datasets and support model development.
• Take ownership of engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and continuous improvement.
