Akamai is seeking a Senior II Platform Engineer Lead to shape the Akamai Inference Cloud platform from Krakow or remote Poland. You will drive design and implementation of core platform components, focusing on performance, security, and reliability for AI inference workloads.

Competenze

• Experience building and operating internet-facing platform services such as API gateways, ingress layers, reverse proxies, or service infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong background in distributed systems, scalable high‑performance platforms, and DevOps practices (CI/CD, IaC).
• Technical leadership: mentoring, code reviews, design discussions, and solving complex platform challenges.

• Lead design and implementation of core platform components for Akamai Inference Cloud, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Drive technical decisions, select tools and architectural approaches for secure, scalable services.
• Advance platform capabilities including authentication, load balancing, rate limiting, firewall integration, and API patterns.
• Design data plane APIs, including OpenAI-compatible interfaces for diverse workloads.
• Define observability with metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, and diagnostics for distributed systems.
• Lead capacity planning and scalability strategies for traffic, models, and regional deployments.
• Guide Kubernetes-based orchestration patterns for containerized workloads.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
