Job summary

Sigma Software seeks a Senior Back-end Engineer to join an Accessibility Product House, delivering a high-scale SaaS platform focused on accessibility automation and compliance. You will design and implement distributed back-end services, work on microservices, cloud infrastructure, and data-intensive pipelines with AI-assisted tooling, in a remote, international team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer including AI SDLC experience
• Strong backend development experience in Golang or Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot
• Proficiency with major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Experience with Elasticsearch and BigQuery
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores
• Proficiency with messaging or streaming systems (Kafka, Flink, Spark, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ)
• Knowledge of high-scale stream/batch processing (Flink, Spark, Kafka)
• Background in microservices, distributed systems, and serverless architectures
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and production monitoring
• English level: Upper-Intermediate

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, distributed Back-end solutions for a SaaS platform
• Architect and deliver complex systems focused on accessibility compliance and scalability
• Develop and maintain microservices and cloud-native applications
• Plan, execute, and support large-scale software delivery pipelines
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture evolution and technical strategy
• Contribute to infrastructure and SaaS architecture decisions
• Improve reliability, observability, and maintainability of distributed systems
• Utilize AI-assisted development practices and tools within the software lifecycle
• Participate in code reviews and engineering best practices
