Job summary

payabl. is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our Banking team. You will own QA activities for Core Banking and Payment platforms, focusing on API, backend, and transaction flows, with hands-on automation in Python, PyTest, Cypress and Playwright.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA automation experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, PyTest, Cypress and Playwright.
• Experience in API and backend testing.
• Experience testing payment or transaction flows and validating data integrity.
• Understanding of payment processing and Balances.

Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end functional, integration, regression, and system testing for Core Banking and Payment platforms.
• Build and maintain automated tests using Python (PyTest) and end-to-end browser automation tools such as Cypress and Playwright.
• Create and execute test cases based on new feature implementations.
• Participate in refinement sessions and provide QA input early in the development lifecycle.
• Prepare detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data, and coverage.
• Perform API and backend testing, ensuring correct system behaviour and data integrity.
• Conduct manual testing when needed to ensure full test coverage.
• Analyse logs and system flows to identify issues and understand root causes.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear evidence and reproducible steps.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to improve quality and delivery.
• Contribute to delivering stable and reliable software in a complex banking environment.
