Job summary

Sezzle seeks a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, operate, and scale the platform powering Sezzle. You will own the hardest infra problems, balancing throughput, latency, resilience, and cost as the business grows.

You will lead architecture across AWS, Kubernetes, Aurora RDS, and AI-assisted tooling, participate in on-call rotations, and drive reliability with measurable improvements in production systems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating production infrastructure at scale.
• Deep expertise with AWS including multi-account architectures, VPCs, IAM and networking.
• Strong coding and automation skills in Go or Python; IaC with Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and evolution of core infrastructure to support growing traffic and data.
• Engineer for scale and performance across compute, networking, Kubernetes, and databases.
• Design and build AWS infrastructure with resilient, multi-AZ and multi-region patterns.
• Build and operate the Kubernetes platform including autoscaling and safe upgrades.
• Scale and optimize Aurora RDS for MySQL and Postgres: queries, indexing, failover.
