Job summary

ambiscale is seeking a Mid-level Data Governance Engineer to own the technical side of governance platforms across production environments. You will configure, operate, and maintain tools like OpenMetadata, Collibra, or Ataccama, while integrating catalogs with data warehouses, dbt, BI tools, and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with data governance / metadata platforms such as OpenMetadata, Collibra, Ataccama, or similar.
• Strong understanding of cloud data ecosystems (Azure, GCP BigQuery, Pub/Sub) and related tooling.
• Comfort with SQL, dbt, and system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Configure, operate, and maintain data governance and metadata platforms.
• Integrate data catalogs with data ecosystems including data warehouses, databases, dbt, BI tools, and cloud services.
• Set up and maintain metadata ingestion pipelines (technical metadata, schemas, lineage, usage statistics).
• Implement and maintain technical data lineage, profiling and basic data quality checks, RBAC and data access controls.
• Automate metadata ingestion, synchronization, and updates.
• Support governance platform migrations and day-to-day operations.
