Job summary

AU Construction is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Estimator to join our remote team, focusing on estimating for Australian HVAC and electrical projects. The role involves detailed quantity take-offs, labour and material estimates, and tender preparation.

Primary CAD drafting is limited to about 10%, with opportunities to revise AutoCAD drawings and update control layouts as required. The ideal candidate will understand Australian standards and deliver accurate, competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certificate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or Controls.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant estimating experience.
• Experience estimating HVAC controls and electrical works.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings.
• Prefer Intermediate AutoCAD capability.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs and tender docs for HVAC/electrical work.
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimates for controls.
• Prepare BOQs and material take-offs with pricing data.
• Compare supplier quotations and maintain pricing databases.
• Support tender submissions with detailed costings and margins.
• Coordinate with project teams on budgets and risks.
