Job summary

Cloudfide is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a governance-focused, cloud-native platform for a Fortune 500 client. You will design robust Java APIs and backend services, implement durable workflow orchestration with Temporal.io, and collaborate with Azure services to deliver scalable data governance solutions.

You will work in a remote-first, AI-forward environment that values precision, clarity, and continuous growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience as a Java engineer with backend system design
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring
• Hands-on experience with Temporal.io or similar workflow orchestration
• Solid Azure experience (App Service, Key Vault, Graph API, networking, DevOps Pipelines)
• Docker and Docker Compose for containerized development and deployment
• Strong SQL/MSSQL skills and data querying knowledge
• Understanding of OAuth2 and modern authentication/authorization patterns
• Experience with Spock/Groovy for testing or willingness to adopt
• Simplicity-first mindset focused on clarity and minimalism
• Excellent communication across tech and non-technical stakeholders
• Fluent English and collaboration across international teams

Responsibilities

• Designing and building robust, production-grade Java APIs and backend services using Java 25 and Spring
• Implementing and maintaining workflow orchestration with Temporal.io for reliable, long-running processes
• Working with Azure services - App Service, Key Vault, Graph API, networking, and DevOps Pipelines
• Containerizing and managing services with Docker and Docker Compose
• Designing and working with MSSQL databases and ensuring data integrity
• Implementing secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2
• Writing meaningful tests using Spock and Groovy
• Making deliberate, targeted code changes while respecting conventions
• Communicating clearly with both technical peers and client stakeholders
• Leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and output quality
