Job summary

TuxCare is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Language Security Research function, a four-team group responsible for delivering security patches for end-of-life and non-EOL runtimes and frameworks. You will set the technical direction and govern delivery across Java, JavaScript/Go, Python, and PHP.

This role emphasizes leadership in a distributed environment, scaling processes, and collaborating with OS, Docker, and platform teams to meet client expectations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on software development across multiple language ecosystems.
• 3+ years engineering leadership (Team Lead or Engineering Manager) in a product company.
• Proven delivery accountability and outcomes for teams.
• Solid knowledge of at least 3 of: Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, PHP.
• Hands-on security research or vulnerability analysis experience (CVE triage, patch backporting).
• Ability to work with distributed teams and large organisations.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and ability to meet delivery expectations.
• Experience building or improving engineering processes from scratch.
• Proficient with CI/CD systems and dependency tooling; English level and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop four teams (Java, JavaScript/Go, Python, PHP) totalling ~18 engineers
• Define hiring plans, performance reviews, and career development for reports
• Set and enforce CVE analysis, vulnerability assessment, patch backporting, release processes
• Drive tooling and workflow consistency across CI/CD pipelines and patch delivery
• Oversee SLA compliance and align team efforts with client expectations
• Coordinate documentation and collaboration with OS, Docker, and platform teams
