Job summary

Simbus is a fast-growing digital transformation company delivering AI and data solutions to global clients. We are hiring a Data Engineer with Databricks expertise for remote engagement within our Data & AI Practice.

You will migrate client data estates to Databricks, build scalable pipelines, implement Unity Catalog governance, and support production platforms. You will collaborate with senior engineers and clients, contribute to documentation and code reviews, and help build reusable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of Data Engineering experience with at least 18 months Databricks.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate; Professional certification preferred.
• Strong expertise in PySpark, Advanced SQL and Delta Lake.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture, Data Modeling, Auto Loader, Delta Live Tables/Lakehouse, and Databricks Workflows.
• Proficiency in Git-based development and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Experience in data migration, Unity Catalog, CI/CD and Databricks Asset Bundles.
• Knowledge of Databricks SQL, Structured Streaming, automated testing, performance optimization, MLflow and Generative AI is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to take ownership of delivery and troubleshoot production data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Migrate client data estates from legacy platforms to Databricks.
• Build scalable, metadata-driven data pipelines.
• Implement Unity Catalog governance.
• Manage CI/CD processes and Databricks platforms in production.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and senior engineers, contribute to documentation and code reviews.
• Develop reusable Databricks engineering assets.
