Job summary

Upwork is seeking an experienced CFD/Aerodynamics Engineer to design self-contained tasks for evaluating AI models’ engineering reasoning. You will craft problem statements, meshes, boundary conditions, and flow regimes, and build scoring checkers with verified solutions.

Your role involves applying OpenFOAM knowledge to realistic scenarios, refining tasks for clarity and accuracy, and working fully remotely on a flexible schedule as an independent contractor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Hands-on experience with OpenFOAM for CFD simulations.
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design compact CFD/aerodynamics tasks evaluating AI models' engineering reasoning.
• Create clear technical problem statements covering boundary conditions, mesh, flow regimes.
• Develop deterministic scoring checkers to evaluate AI-generated responses.
• Produce verified reference solutions to ensure tasks are solvable.
• Review and refine tasks for clarity and realism.
• Apply real-world OpenFOAM experience to develop practical scenarios.
• Work independently in a fully remote, asynchronous environment with scheduling flexibility.
