Job summary

Red Commerce Schweiz GmbH is seeking a Backend Engineer for a 3-month contract (remote within the EU) to build the backend of an enterprise AI Agent Platform, focusing on enabling AI agents to communicate and integrate through Agent-to-Agent (A2A) technology. The role requires Python backend development, REST APIs, and strong AWS experience.

You will develop the Agent Gateway, including agent registration, configuration and routing, and work with AWS Agent Core Runtime and Gateway to implement

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a backend developer.
• Experience with python backend development, ideally async Python.
• Experience with REST API development, including building endpoints.
• Strong experience with AWS, particularly AgentCore Runtime and Gateway.
• Experience with AI Agent / Agent-to-Agent (A2A) integration.
• Experience with API integration and routing.
• Experience with Microservices / distributed communication.
• Experience with event-driven development, including SSE and webhooks.
• Strong understanding of JSON-RPC 2.0.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock / multi-agent experience is beneficial.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry / ADOT is a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop the backend of an enterprise AI Agent Platform.
• Enable AI agents to communicate and integrate via A2A technology.
• Develop backend services using Python and REST APIs.
• Implement the Agent Gateway including agent registration, configuration and routing.
• Work with AWS Agent Core Runtime and Gateway for asynchronous, event-driven integrations (SSE, webhooks).
