Zurich Insurance in Kraków seeks a Reinsurance Specialist to analyze contracts, manage reinsurer relations, and oversee claims. You will support internal stakeholders with expert reinsurance insights and generate actionable reporting for decision making.

Qualifications

• Finance or accounting degree or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in finance/accounting with solid GL knowledge.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Reinsurance Specialist (Finance Services Reinsurance Team)

Place of work: Cracow

The job purpose of a Reinsurance Specialist is to analyze reinsurance contracts, manage relationships with reinsurers, oversee reinsurance claims, provide expertise to internal stakeholders, contribute to the generation of insightful reinsurance reports and analysis to support informed decision-making within the organization. This is a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies, efficient claim settlement, and effective communication and collaboration with reinsurers. It gives opportunity to participate in local, regional and global projects and that is why we are looking for a proactive, flexible person with a “can do” approach.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate reinsurance contracts for compliance and financial impact.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers for effective collaboration.
• Monitor and manage reinsurance claims for timely and accurate settlement.
• Provide reinsurance expertise and support to internal stakeholders.
• Perform reinsurance reporting and analysis for informed decision-making.
• Calculate, book, bill, collect and apply cash for facultative reinsurance programs, involving various tools, internal reinsurance/claims systems and SAP.
• Actively identify areas for process inefficiencies, improvements, drive the continuous process improvement and standardization.
• Join relevant training sessions to maintain good knowledge of the system, processes and changes.
• Keep SOP/training guides up to date for own role & processes in collaboration with Group Reinsurance Finance & Recovery Team.

Additional requirements:

• This position will be dedicated for the US (American) customer and will require occasionally adapting to work according to the US hours as per the team’s shift schedule (9.00-17.00, 11.00-19.00, 14.30-22.30).

Candidate’s profile:

• Finance and Accounting, Economy or equivalent academic degree.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting industry.
• Solid basics of general accounting and knowledge of general ledger closing processes.
• English skills – spoken and written at fluent level (C1).
• Very good knowledge of MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables etc.) and financial system (SAP as preferred).
• Analytical skills and attention to details.
• Problem solving skills and independent.
• Ability to multitask.

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
