Hitachi Energy is seeking an R&D Materials engineer to shape and govern material standards across a global organization. You will develop and maintain specifications for reusable materials and components, ensuring accurate product data in PLM systems and global alignment across factories and teams.

You will work at the intersection of engineering, material management and product data governance, collaborating with engineering, procurement, quality and supply chain colleagues while improving data

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering with focus on materials or mechanical disciplines.
• Experience in technical specifications, documentation or data standardization.
• Knowledge of materials, components and standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain material and component specifications.
• Manage engineering standards in a central PLM/PDM repository.
• Support material selection and specification implementation.
• Analyze and validate material attributes and parameters for mapping.
• Improve data quality, consistency and governance.
• Harmonize legacy material standards and documentation.
• Collaborate with factories, engineering, suppliers and cross-functional teams.
