Job summary

Hitachi Energy Poland is seeking a Design Engineer for the Transformer unit to join the Global Product Care team. You will design and optimize components for insulation and high-voltage systems, collaborating across factories worldwide to meet specifications and standards.

You will develop simulation models, verify performance, and support R&D and production. Strong English, 3+ years in engineering, and ANSYS experience are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in R&D or engineering, preferably in high voltage equipment or components
• Solid mechanical knowledge, ideally in electrical insulators or high-voltage components
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
• Should have good understanding of IEC/IEEE/ISO/ASTM Standards
• Experience in finite element analysis and in the use of the ANSYS software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with global technical teams
• Proactive, self-motivated with strong ownership
• Open to change and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Establish mechanical simulation models for transformer components (bushings, tap-changers, sensors) and perform static/dynamic analyses
• Verify mechanical performance per IEC/IEEE/ISO/ASTM standards and issue simulation reports
• Develop internal tools and support factories; collaborate with global team on new R&D solutions
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines
• Collaborate with supply chain to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
• Evaluate materials and manufacturing processes
• Conduct design reviews and verifications; implement modifications to improve quality
• Take project leadership roles and mentor junior colleagues
• Serve as SME and share knowledge to foster collaboration within the team
