Slate is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality activities and ensure a robust launch for new products. You will manage PPAP, supplier assessments, FMEA, and cross-functional collaboration to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality management.
• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in engineering or quality assurance in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Familiarity with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk assessment tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication across cross-functional teams.
• Experience in supplier quality management and incoming materials quality.
• High attention to detail in maintaining quality documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take on additional duties.
• Proficient with AIAG, IATF 16949, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP.
• Integrity and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Approve PPAP submissions from suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Follow up on supplier corrective actions and ensure timely resolution.
• Support problem-solving activities related to supplier quality.
• Provide production line support for supplier quality issues.
• Conduct supplier capability assessments and manage certifications.
• Coordinate incoming inspection processes.
• Provide part inspection support for new products and launches.
• Implement supplier performance strategies and scorecards.
• Collaborate with supplier quality to implement improvement strategies.
• Conduct internal audits and monitor KPIs such as scrap rates.
• Manage obsolete materials to prevent mixing with active materials.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate quality requirements.
• Maintain quality documentation including control plans and procedures.
• Risk minimization using risk assessment tools and robust detection systems.
• Support FMEA development.
• Provide quality support to technical and manufacturing teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
