Job summary

ALTEN Polska, part of the ALTEN Group, is seeking an experienced Manual Tester in Kraków to join our Agile DevSecOps environment. You will define and execute tests for software changes, ensuring quality and stability across pipelines before release.

In this role you will design QA plans for the SBOM capabilities, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross functional colleagues. This is a full-time contract with equipment provided and opportunities to relocate within ALTEN Polska.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years as a Manual Tester in an Agile development team.
  • Experience designing manual tests for web applications and REST APIs, including third-party integrations.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence to support delivery tracking, documentation, traceability and test evidence.
  • Experience using test management tools (e.g. qTest/Tricentis/Zephyr) for test case management, test cycles, execution evidence and reporting.
  • Good understanding of Agile and DevSecOps delivery processes.
  • Strong communication skills to drive workshops and collaborate across teams.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of Governance, Risk & Compliance processes.
  • Knowledge of the SBOM ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Training the team and providing technical support for testing/QA activities
  • Ensuring all tests meet company and industry standards
  • Reporting defects using standard defect tracking tools and preparing test reports for management
  • Propose new technologies and techniques relevant to QA and testing
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance related to QA/testing to the team

The role will be accountable for the following:
  • Liasing with the product design and Service Desk teams to determine product testing parameters
  • Delievering and performing integration, regression, stress, load, and performance testing both manual and automated to validate production readiness of software applications and infrastructure for stability and performance before integrating into software delivery pipelines
  • Troubleshooting any errors and streamlining the testing procedures
  • Design and deliver the QA and test plan for the Cybersecurity tooling platofrm
  • Training the team and providing technical support when needed for all testing/QA related activites
  • Ensuring all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards
  • Reporting defects found in testing diligently, promptly, and accurately, using standard defect tracking tools
  • Preparing test reports for management
  • Propose new technologies and techniques relevant to quality assurance and testing
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance related to quality assurance and testing to support the team
What you will be doing

The role will report to the Technical Delivery Lead and/or QA Manager / Test Engineering Lead, working within an Agile, DevSecOps software delivery environment. You’ll work with the QA team to define, execute and report manual tests for delivered software changes.

The role will be aligned to an Incubation POD, with a primary focus on SBOM capabilities, and will be expected to support other delivery priorities where required.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of software testing theory within an Agile environment
  • Ability to design and execute multiple test types, including functional and regression testing (with awareness of performance testing approaches)
  • 3+ years’ experience working as a Manual Tester within an Agile software development team, with relevant industry certification
  • 3+ years’ experience designing manual tests for web applications and REST APIs, including third party integrations
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence to support delivery tracking, documentation, traceability and test evidence
  • Experience using test management tools (e.g. qTest/ Tricentis/ Zephyr) for test case management, test cycles, execution evidence and reporting
  • Good understanding of Agile and DevSecOps delivery processes (e.g. burndown metrics, backlog tracking, velocity, task definition, retrospectives and defect management)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to drive workshops and collaborate across teams
  • Ability to interpret application logs and perform initial triage for defects and failed tests
  • Experience working with cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Understanding of Governance, Risk & Compliance processes
  • Knowledge of the SBOM ecosystem
