Job description

Description

We are looking for an experienced and highly technical QA Lead / QA Manager with a strong background in hardware, smart home, and IoT device testing to lead complex E2E quality initiatives. The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end product validation, collaborate with global stakeholders, and drive parallel testing tracks for next-generation smart home IoT devices (sensors, smart doorbells, cameras, and connected hubs). This role requires a blend of deep technical testing expertise (manual and automated), hands‑on test strategy creation, and practical project leadership skills to plan, push forward, and take full responsibility for complex hardware/software test execution. You will join a high‑performing engineering department dedicated to delivering cutting‑edge connected device solutions for leading global consumer electronics and telecommunications brands. The project environment is fast‑paced, highly collaborative, and technically rich. Your work will directly impact millions of connected end‑users, ensuring that smart home devices perform reliably in real‑world conditions. By combining technical QA rigor with structured project tracking and executive‑level communication, you will safeguard delivery performance, technical clarity, and product quality across the entire IoT program.

Requirements
Professional Experience
  • 5+ years in Quality Assurance, with 2+ years as a QA Lead, Tech Lead, or QA manager in IoT, consumer electronics, or embedded device testing.
  • Hands‑on E2E IoT testing experience validating physical smart home hardware (sensors, cameras, doorbells, hubs) alongside firmware, cloud backends, and apps.
  • Proven track record of planning, driving, and taking full responsibility for parallel test tracks to ensure on‑time delivery across distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated experience creating Master Test Strategies, Test Plans, and acceptance criteria for complex multi‑component systems.
  • Strong command of both Manual (exploratory, hardware edge cases) and Automation testing frameworks (API, UI, telemetry, regression).
Education & Languages
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field (mandatory).
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical business stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills, with proven experience writing technical documentation, status reports, driving argumented technical and process discussions; executive summaries creation.
Key Competencies & Must‑Have Skills
  • Hardware & IoT Testing Mastery: Deep technical understanding of IoT ecosystems, hardware nuances, battery/connectivity behavior, and root‑cause log isolation.
  • Multi‑Track Delivery Capabilities: Ability to define scope, estimate effort, manage project risks, and assertively push/be responcible for on time execution of parallel tracks forward under tight deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate priorities, align technical testing with business goals, and lead cross‑functional teams across time zones.
  • Agile QA Leadership: Experienced in driving quality gates, risk mitigation, and test execution within very dynamic Agile, Scrum delivery models.
Highly Appreciated
  • Experience with wireless protocols (Wi‑Fi, BLE, Zigbee, Z‑Wave, Matter, Thread) and debugging tools (Wireshark, ADB, Postman, Serial logs).
  • Hands‑on familiarity with embedded systems, firmware development, or middleware architectures.
  • Mobile app (iOS/Android) and embedded firmware test automation experience.
  • Knowledge of advanced project management tools and engineering lifecycle systems (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Job responsibilities
Technical Testing & Quality Strategy
  • Own and drive the E2E testing lifecycle for smart home IoT products (smart doorbells, sensors, motion detectors, and ecosystem peripherals).
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable Test Strategies, Master Test Plans, and detailed Test Cases covering hardware, firmware, app, and cloud integration layers.
  • Oversee both manual testing execution (exploratory, usability, hardware edge cases) and automated testing strategies (regression, API, performance) to maximize test coverage (you will have test leads, responcible for manual and Autonation test strategies for detailed supervision).
  • Dig into technical details, log files, and hardware behaviors to assist teams in identifying, isolating, and driving root‑cause resolution for complex defects.
QA Leadership & Track Management
  • Take end‑to‑end responsibility for planning, tracking, and driving parallel test tracks, ensuring all testing efforts align with major release milestones.
  • Maintain complete visibility over project status, test execution metrics, blocker logs, and quality gates across all active tracks.
  • Actively push teams forward, remove technical roadblocks, and ensure test execution strictly adheres to defined timelines.
  • Identify technical and operational risks early, proactively communicating and escalating critical blockers to project leadership while proposing clear technical solutions.
Stakeholder Communication & Team Leadership
  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between technical test engineering teams, client stakeholders, product owners, and executive management.
  • Author and deliver regular quality status reports, release sign‑off documentation, and risk assessment updates to keep all stakeholders aligned.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide multidisciplinary QA engineers (manual, automation, and hardware test specialists) across distributed locations, maintaining clear expectations and feedback loops.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing, clear technical documentation, and best practices in IoT testing methodologies across the department.
  • Participate in pre‑sales or account expansion discussions by clearly presenting technical estimation and testing framework expertise for new IoT initiatives.
