Job summary

Coherent Solutions is seeking a QA Automation Engineer for the Data Engineering team in Poland. You will build automated API tests, validate data quality with SQL, and test data pipelines end-to-end. Collaboration with engineers across the org is essential, and you’ll help raise QA standards while owning test coverage.

Expect participation in end-to-end testing of data flows and reporting, with opportunities to mentor teammates and shape testing practices. Remote/hybrid options available.

Qualifications

Project Description

As a QA Automation Engineer on the Data Engineering team, you’ll help ensure the services and data other teams rely on are dependable. You’ll work closely with engineers across the organization in a hands‑on role that values strong automation skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach. The role primarily focuses on API automation, while also involving data validation, data quality testing, and end-to-end testing of data pipelines and reporting flows.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain automated API tests for services owned by the Data Engineering team;
• Write SQL checks to validate data quality and transformations;
• Test data pipelines and verify data as it moves through the different layers of the data architecture;
• Check the accuracy and consistency of data used in reports and investor-facing materials;
• Support end-to-end testing across Data Engineering services;
• Identify gaps in test coverage and establish appropriate QA processes and standards;

Job Requirements

• 4+ years of software QA experience, including work with web applications, REST APIs, and/or Salesforce;
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, data validation, reconciliation, and data profiling;
• Understanding of data architecture, including Medallion, and familiarity with Airflow, DAGs, data pipelines, and transformations;
• The ability to understand system architecture and infrastructure;
• Strong ownership and sense of urgency, with the ability to triage issues, adapt to changing priorities, and manage work across multiple products and projects;
• Clear communication and collaboration across teams, including facilitating constructive discussions and helping teams reach decisions;
• Ability to mentor teammates, share knowledge, delegate work, and promote accountability across the team;
• Experience improving team effectiveness by establishing QA practices, coding guidelines, tools, and processes, and introducing useful technologies where appropriate;
• Availability to occasionally join meetings scheduled as late as 8–9 p.m. Poland time;

Nice To Have

• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks such as RestAssured or Unirest;
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as TestRail and Jira;
• Experience monitoring and validating systems with Datadog;
• Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, particularly cloud-native services;
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline;
