Job summary

DCG is expanding its team and seeks a senior backend software engineer with 5+ years of Python and/or Java experience. You will design, implement, and maintain features in the Automated Security Retest Engine, including REST APIs and Java Spring Boot components, and integrate with external tools.

You will write automated tests, troubleshoot defects, apply secure coding practices, and collaborate with security and product stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development with Python and/or Java.
• Hands-on experience in backend apps and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot (Java) or modular design (Python).
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Strong secure development practices: input validation, auth, data handling.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows (code reviews).
• Ability to analyze codebases, troubleshoot, and document solutions.
• Strong English communication for technical work.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Python and/or Java
• Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining backend applications and REST APIs
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and standard Java development practices (for Java developers), or modular application design and dependency management (for Python developers)
• Practical experience in writing and maintaining automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability
• Good understanding of secure software development principles, including input validation, authentication, authorization, and secure handling of sensitive data
• Proficiency with Git and familiarity with collaborative development practices, including code reviews
• Ability to analyze existing codebases, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement maintainable, well-documented solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders
• Good command of written and spoken English for technical communication and documentation

Nice to have:

• Experience working with both Python and Java / Spring Boot
• Experience integrating LLM APIs or developing AI-assisted workflows, including structured output validation and error handling
• Familiarity with application security testing methodologies, particularly DAST and SAST
• Experience with security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP, Nuclei, or Semgrep
• Experience with document processing and data extraction, particularly from PDF files
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud-based environments
