Job summary

GE-Vernova- in Katowice seeks a seasoned logistics specialist to ensure timely delivery of equipment to destination within budget and in good condition. You will coordinate with the project team and stakeholders, manage shipping documents, and ensure compliance with international trade rules and GE policies.

Responsibilities include overseeing RFQ issuance, price negotiations, risk monitoring, and cost tracking across multimodal transport while enforcing EHS and quality standards and driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Logistics or similar.
• 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of equipment to destination within project timelines and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Ensure shipping documents are issued and released so delivery and payment dates are met.
• Comply with international trade regulations and GE rules before shipping.
• Inform Service Providers about EHS rules and ensure implementation.
• Issue method statements for sensitive operations and ensure they are followed.
• Manage and approve invoices from local transportation companies.
• Follow logistics procedures and use logistics tools.
• Monitor risks and opportunities, report progress and costs to the Project Procurement and Logistics Manager.
• Collate data to issue RFQs to Transport Service Providers.
• Issue RFQs using GE templates and sourcing rules.
• Review offers, request clarifications, negotiate prices.
• Ensure quotations are complete, compliant and timely.
• Present price comparisons and analyses, highlight contingencies and mitigations.
• Provide service provider performance feedback and follow processes.
• Adhere to quality control procedures and report non-conformities.
• Participate in non-conformity reporting and lessons learned.

Job Description Summary

You will be responsible for ensuring that the specified scope (package/material) is completely delivered at the required location, safely, at the right time, in good condition and within the allocated budget. In the frame of the 2GW program, 5 projects have been awarded by Tennet to GEV-GSI, 3 projects in the Netherlands and 2 in Germany. You will be part of a logistics team but having responsibility for the dedicated tasks and scope.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of equipment up to the place of destination within the timescale defined by the Project team and in coordination with all stakeholders
• Ensure that all shipping documents are properly issued and released in due course to stakeholders so that the expected delivery date and payment date are met
• Ensure that all the international trade regulations & GE rules are fully respected before shipping
• Ensure that Service Providers are duly informed about EHS rules and implement them
• Ensure that the method statement for sensitive operations is issued in due time by the Service Provider and that operations are carried out accordingly
• Manage and approve invoices from local transportation companies
• Follow all logistics procedures, processes & use logistics tools
• Monitor logistics risks and opportunities within the project, report on delivery progress, cost tracking, and other relevant information to the Project Procurement and Logistics Manager

Sourcing Logistics:

• Collate all relevant data to issue Request for Quotations (RFQ) to Transport Service Providers
• Issuing RFQ to Transport Service Providers using the GE templates and following the GE sourcing rules
• Review offers, send clarification requests to the service providers & negotiate prices
• Ensure all quotations are complete, compliant and received in due time
• Present price comparison tables and technical analysis. Highlight the logistics contingencies, risk and opportunities with the associated mitigation plan

Continuous improvement

• Provides Service Provider performance feedback to Sourcing/Commodity Leader
• Follow all logistics processes & use logistics tools
• Follows quality control procedures, work procedures, and processes
• Promptly report and handle non-compliant cargo or transport method
• Active participation in the non-conformity reporting and lessons learned

Required Qualifications and Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor degree in Logistics or similar / Additionally at least 5 years of relevant experience is required
• Good Knowledge of Turnkey Project Logistics
• Good knowledge of special transports (out of gauge and/or heavy)
• Proven knowledge of International Trade rules (Incoterms, Customs, Letter of Credit…)
• Good knowledge of Grid Solutions Projects and equipment
• Languages: fluent in written and spoken English
• Decision making, problem solving, ability to independently resolve issues with difficult suppliers
• Knowledge in scheduling/planning of large and complex projects
• Road freight, sea freight, air freight and multimodal
