State Street Corp in Kraków, Poland, is seeking a highly skilled Python developer to join the AIS Technology team. You will design, automate, and maintain tools supporting critical financial workflows such as reporting, reconciliation, and operational risk management, aligning with regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with global stakeholders to implement scalable automation solutions, manage the development pipeline, ensure testing and quality assurance, and promote best practices.

Competenze

• University degree in banking/finance, technology/IT or related field.
• 3+ years of proven process automation using Python, data manipulation with Pandas/NumPy, and API integration.
• 5+ years of experience in financial operations or a similar environment.
• Familiarity with object oriented programming; Agile development experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of financial products and trade lifecycle is beneficial.

Your new team

This position supports Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) and reports to the AIS Tech team supporting various strategic programs and initiatives across AIS. Teams build tactical solutions (e.g., Python, VBA) and deliver global initiatives that enhance client experience, increase operational efficiency, and meet regulatory requirements.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled detailed-oriented Python developer to join our Alternative Investment Solutions Technology team. The role involves developing, automating, and maintaining tools and processes that support critical financial workflows including reporting, reconciliation, and operational risk management. The Ideal candidate will have strong technical capabilities combined with an understanding of financial products, systems, and operational processes. A talented and self-driven individual able to leverage strong IT experience (Python development) to manage a growing automation demand. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with global business stakeholders to design, develop, and implement high-quality automation solutions that align with business requirements while adhering to development best practices, organizational standards, and industry guidelines. The role requires effective management of a development pipeline, including effort estimation, and delivery planning. The individual will also be responsible for performing thorough testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability, scalability, and effectiveness of implemented solutions. The ideal candidate demonstrates a proactive approach, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highest development standards and a continuous learning mindset. A willingness to adopt emerging technologies, development standards, and best practices is essential for success in this role.

Your new role As a Project Manager with Python, Officer you will:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable automation solutions and applications (Python) based on business and technical requirements
• Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technology-driven improvements across multiple business functions
• Create new tools that aim to save time, risk and improve quality
• Perform Project Analysis of requirements received for each development effort
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support
• Engage the existing development resources to ensure best practices are being applied and/or promote new best practices
• Manage/maintain oversight of the promotion and demonstration of strategic initiatives
• Collaborate with global stakeholders, business analysts, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with strategic objectives
• Continually review and redefine development processes e.g. learn new methods
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and support materials in line with organizational standards
• Provide regular status reporting to the project/program leads and management
• Monitor project progress, communicate development status, and proactively manage technical risks, issues, and dependencies
• Ensure timely delivery of technology solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and maintainability
• Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, audit standards, and data security policies
• Conduct ad hoc reports, administration, projects and tasks as required

What we value

Qualifications and Previous Experience needed to succeed in the role:

• A University Degree in banking/finance, technology/IT or related field
• 3-plus year experience with proven process automation using Python, data manipulation (Pandas, NumPy), and API integration.
• 5-plus years of experience in financial operations or a similar environment
• Familiarity with object oriented programming
• Further qualifications in IT related field would be an asset
• Any other programming language knowledge would be a plus
• Familiarity with Agile development methods would be an advantage
• Solid understanding of financial products (equities, fixed income, derivatives) and trade lifecycle will be beneficial
• Advanced command of English language

Work organization requirement:

• Hybrid work model: 3 days of office work per week

Minimum Salary:

• zł132,000 Annual The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ. Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees. In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
