Phoenix Systems in Warsaw, Poland, is seeking a Project Manager to lead implementations and R&D projects for Phoenix-RTOS on Edge IoT devices. The role involves coordinating with international partners and managing funding-institution procedures.

Qualifications

• Higher education in a technical field (computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or similar).
• At least 4 years of professional experience in a similar role; IoT experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Prince2 and PMI project management methodologies; English at least C1.

Responsibilities

• Managing the project related to the Phoenix-RTOS for Edge-IoT devices.
• Handling administrative matters with funding institutions (NCBR).
• Ensuring technical teams meet milestones under deadlines.
• Coordinating with international partners and subcontractors (environmental testing, DO-178C certification).
• Overseeing project execution within budget.
• Planning, supervising, and verifying work across all stages of the project.
• Identifying and eliminating bottlenecks slowing down engineering work.
• Managing risk and change.
• Collaborating with technical teams during scope definition, planning, execution, and maintenance phases.
• Managing project information flow.
• Organizing and participating in status meetings.
• Organizing project team workflows.
• Reporting progress to the Management Board.
• Creating project documentation and ensuring its quality and proper flow.
• Representing the company in dealings with stakeholders (partners, clients, certification bodies, auditors).

Phoenix Systems is looking for a Project Manager to manage of implementations and research & development projects of Phoenix-RTOS for Edge IOT smart devices.

Tasks and accountability

• managing the project related to the development and implementation of the Phoenix-RTOS operating system for Edge-IoT devices,
• handling ongoing administrative matters with funding institutions (NCBR), including processing budget changes and requests for contract amendments,
• ensuring technical teams meet milestones under tight deadlines,
• conducting tough negotiations and coordinating schedules with international partners and subcontractors (e.g., environmental testing, DO-178C certification),
• overseeing project execution within budget,
• planning, supervising, and verifying work across all stages of the project,
• identifying and decisively eliminating bottlenecks slowing down the engineering team’s work,
• managing risk and change,
• collaborating with technical teams during scope definition, planning, execution, and maintenance phases,
• managing project information flow,
• organizing and participating in status meetings,
• organizing project team workflows,
• reporting progress regularly to the Management Board,
• creating project documentation and ensuring its quality and proper flow,
• representing the company in dealings with project stakeholders, such as partners, clients, certification bodies, auditors, etc.

Required skills

• higher education in a technical field (computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or similar),
• 4 years of professional experience in a similar role; experience in an IT environment involving IoT devices is an additional asset,
• practical knowledge of NCBR (KPO) procedures and familiarity with the Competitiveness Database (procurement, requests for proposals),
• experience with projects carried out in an international environment,
• knowledge of project management methodologies (Prince2 and PMI),
• understanding of technologies related to IT, electronics, and IoT devices, along with an ability to delve into technical details,
• experience collaborating with IT specialists,
• experience in preparing project documentation (substantive and financial progress reports),
• fluency in English – ability to communicate freely (at least C1 level),
• resilience to stress and the ability to drive results from highly specialized engineering (R&D) teams,
• ability to act logically in a dynamic environment with pressure to deliver results,
• highly developed interpersonal skills: communication, teamwork, and relationship management,
• independence, conscientiousness, and attention to detail,
