Job summary

FIS is seeking an experienced software professional in Poland to contribute to financial software used by corporates worldwide. You will develop and support features in a UNIX/Linux environment, focusing on C language and related technologies, while engaging with clients for analysis and on-site support as needed.

You will participate in all stages of the product lifecycle, mentor juniors, and collaborate within an Agile team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with C language development and RDBMS knowledge.
• Experience in payments/banking/financial processing environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated.
• Enthusiastic about teamwork and communication.
• Able to work in an Agile, collaborative environment.
• Experience leading large, complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Good verbal and written English skills.

About the team:

Acting in an advanced professional role, you will be involved in developing and supporting existing innovative financial technology solutions. You will be involved in offering solutions to major financial institutions across Europe, directly interacting with the customer for analysis and support of software systems, and occasional travel for on-site support is expected.

What you will be doing:

• Participate in all phases of product development, support, and implementation.
• Actively participate in the relevant rituals (Planning Meeting, Stand-up, Retrospective, Story tells, etc.) and build a good knowledge of the functional domain.
• Develop new and enhance existing features for the product in a qualitative manner.
• Supporting clients for both medium and large projects.
• Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.

Technology context:

• UNIX; Red Hat Linux; ANSI C/C++ for UNIX; Bash programming; PERL Programming; PL/SQL.
• Git, Maven/Gradle, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Sub version or equivalent code repositories an advantage.
• Deployments to AWS and Azure (FIS development and client environments).

What you bring:

• 6+ years of experience with a strong foundation in C language development and working knowledge of relational databases.
• Proven experience within a payments, banking, or financial transaction processing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated.
• Enthusiastic, team-building attitude, good communication skills.
• Willing to work in an Agile, collaborative environment.
• Experience in working in and leading large, complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Good verbal and written English skills.

The pay range for this full-time position is 160,000 - 240,000 PLN Annual and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
