Job summary

Solid is seeking a Staff Designer to craft intuitive and accessible internal tools for Hippo teams, including claims platforms and agent portals. You will partner with product managers and engineers from discovery to shipping to impact operational metrics.

You will conduct user interviews, sketch, wireframe, and prototype using Figma, and incorporate LLMs into the design toolkit. You will also facilitate cross-functional alignment and share work in critiques.

Qualifications

• 3+ years shipping production design work with measurable impact.
• Strong knowledge of Figma: components, variables, auto-layout, prototyping.
• Comfort with data-dense, workflow-heavy interfaces: tables, dashboards, multi-step flows.
• Experience with internal tools or ops-heavy products is a plus.
• Experience working with US stakeholders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive, accessible internal tools for Hippo teams (claims platforms, underwriting AI, agent portals).
• Partner with PMs and Engineers from discovery onward, defining problems and shipping features that move metrics.
• Run user interviews and lightweight feedback loops with users.
• Sketch, wireframe, and prototype with Figma; use LLMs as part of the toolkit.
• Facilitate conversations to align product, design, and engineering.
• Share work openly and participate in weekly design crits.
