Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a Principal Software Engineer for the Platform Engineering Productivity team in Poland. You will own the lifecycle tooling, help teams ship software faster, and enforce release quality.

You will mentor engineers and shape cross-team standards to improve productivity at scale. You will work with Python/Go/Java/Scala, CI/CD, Terraform/Kubernetes/Docker, and AI integrations, driving architectural decisions and documentation across a globally distributed

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle (build, package, test, release, quality).
• Experience with one or more languages such as Python, Go, Bash, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git and modern dev practices.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and developer platforms (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, major cloud providers).
• Experience designing scalable systems and improving developer productivity through tooling and automation.
• Hands-on AI fluency, including integrating LLM APIs into production workflows.

Responsibilities

• As part of the Engineering Productivity team, build and improve frameworks, reusable components, and guidelines for the full software lifecycle.
• Improve CI infrastructure reliability and efficiency.
• Build and manage systems that produce releasable artifacts.
• Define and enforce release quality gates.
• Develop tooling and infrastructure for product deployment and release.
• Review code to uphold engineering standards and catch defects early.
• Collaborate with engineering and product to align on requirements, testing strategy, and delivery goals.
• Drive clear technical communication across teams and projects.
• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Mentor engineers and foster a collaborative culture around code quality.
