Co-op is seeking a Principal Security Architect to lead the applications and data security architecture within our Technology team. You will provide strategic direction, governance and assurance across major platforms and services, ensuring secure-by-design across cloud, APIs, data, and development practices.

We value senior partnerships and strong technical leadership to shape secure, scalable technology outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in cloud-native architecture with API integration and microservices.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP).
• Experience across enterprise and solution architecture including data security.

Responsibilities

• Lead application and data security architecture, setting standards and best practices.
• Embed secure-by-design into applications, platforms, APIs, cloud solutions, and data services.
• Provide expert security guidance and assurance across the business.
• Lead threat modelling activities and support informed risk decisions.
• Define security patterns for development, data protection, access management, cryptography, and API security.
• Contribute to architecture governance, audits and regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to drive secure, resilient tech outcomes across Co-op.
