Look4IT is seeking a Principal / Lead Engineer near Kraków to take technical ownership of a new power converter platform. This hands-on leadership role will guide a small team, set the technical direction, and act as the authority for customers and stakeholders.

We value engineers who can own a platform end to end and drive top-level architecture. The role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and responsibility from concept to production across kW–MW scale power conversion.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electronics, power electronics, drives, embedded systems or related hardware.
• Proven ownership of a product or platform end to end.
• Demonstrated leadership of engineers, formally or informally.
• Converter or inverter topology design and power conversion experience from kW to MW.
• Experience running design reviews and setting technical direction on complex products.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client designs and manufactures power electronics and control systems for demanding industrial and energy applications, and is building out an engineering team near Kraków. We are looking for a Principal / Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of a new power converter platform.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will set the technical direction for a converter platform scaling from kilowatts to multi-megawatts, guide a small team of engineers through the design, and act as the technical authority in front of customers and internal stakeholders. You report to the Head of Engineering and work with a high degree of independence.

We are deliberately open on domain background. If you have led engineers and owned a product platform end to end, we will consider power conversion experience a strong advantage rather than a precondition.

What You Will Do

• Take technical ownership of a power converter platform from concept through to production release.


• Lead and mentor a small engineering team, set direction, run design reviews, unblock people.

What We Are Looking For Essential

• 8+ years in electronics, power electronics, drives, embedded systems or a related hardware discipline.


• Proven ownership of a product or platform end to end. you were the person the design belonged to, not one contributor among many.


• Demonstrated leadership of engineers, formally as a team lead or manager, or informally as the senior technical voice others followed. Tell us how many people and for how long.


• Converter or inverter topology design (NPC, ANPC, back-to-back, multi-level).


• Power conversion at kW to MW scale.


• Experience running design reviews and setting technical direction on complex products.


• Track record of working across functions like manufacturing, purchasing, quality, project management.


• Comfortable representing technical decisions to customers or senior stakeholders.


• Degree in Electrical, Electronic or a closely related engineering discipline.


• English sufficient for daily technical and customer communication (B2+).

What We Are Looking For Advantageous

• Experience in any adjacent power electronics domain: motor drives, UPS, traction, PV or wind inverters, energy storage, EV charging.


• Working knowledge of IEC, CE or UL standards, or any product certification experience.


• Marine classification standards (GL, LR, ABS).


• Knowledge of engineering quality systems - phase-gate development, engineering change management.
