Job summary

Turnitin is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead our DevOps organization. This hands-on leadership role partners with senior engineers to translate platform strategy into scalable, reliable infrastructure across serverless AWS workloads and Kubernetes (EKS).

You will guide engineering practices, drive improvements in reliability, cost efficiency, and delivery velocity, mentor staff, and shape deployment automation, observability, and platform UX across teams.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering.
• Experience operating serverless and Kubernetes environments at scale.
• Proven track record improving reliability and reducing operational toil.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform design and delivery of capabilities across Serverless-first AWS workloads and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Drive reliability improvements and observability standards.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews across teams.
• Advance CI/CD automation and deployment workflows.
